Seersucker stitch

Pattern: Requires a multiple of 4 stitches plus 1.

Row 1 (RS): Knit 1, then *(purl 1, knit 1) twice; repeat from * to the end.
Row 2 (WS): *(Purl 1, knit 1) twice; repeat from * to the last stitch, then purl 1.
Row 3: Knit 1, then *knit 1, purl 1, knit 2; repeat from * to the end.
Row 4: *Purl 2, knit 1, purl 1; repeat from * to the last stitch, then purl 1.
Row 5: Repeat Row 1.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
