The stitch patterns are surprisingly easy to knit. Even beginners can easily create beautiful designs from these knitting stitches using just a combination of knit and purl stitches in a 6-row repeat.

1. Triangle stitch
2. Pyramid stitch
3. Ladder stitch
4. Basket weave stitch
5. Diagonal Left stitch
6. Diagonal right stitch

Triangle stitch

Pattern: Multiple of 5 stitches

Row 1 (Right Side): Knit all stitches.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): Repeat the sequence: Knit 1, purl 4 until the end of the row.

Rows 3-4: Repeat the sequence: Knit 3, purl 2 until the end of each row.

Row 5: Repeat Row 2.

Row 6: Knit all stitches.

Repeat Rows 1-6 for the pattern.

Pyramid stitch

Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches plus 1

Row 1 (Right Side): Knit 1, then repeat the sequence: Knit 2, purl 1, knit 3 until the end of the row.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): Repeat the sequence: Purl 2, knit 3, purl 1 until the last stitch, then purl 1.

Row 3: Knit 1, then repeat the sequence: Purl 5, knit 1 until the end of the row.

Row 4: Repeat the sequence: Knit 1, purl 5 until the last stitch, then knit 1.

Row 5: Purl 1, then repeat the sequence: Purl 1, knit 3, purl 2 until the end of the row.

Row 6: Repeat the sequence: Knit 3, purl 1, knit 2 until the last stitch, then knit 1.

Repeat Rows 1-6 for the pattern.

Ladder-stitch

Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches

Row 1 and all Right Side (RS) rows: Purl 1, then repeat the sequence: Knit 5, purl 1 until the end of the row.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): Repeat the sequence: Knit 1, purl 5 until the last stitch, then knit 1.

Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Row 6: Knit all stitches.

Repeat Rows 1-6 for the pattern.

Basket weave stitch

Pattern: Multiple of 8 stitches plus 2

Row 1 (Right Side): Knit 2, then repeat the sequence: Purl 6, knit 2 until the end of the row.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): Repeat the sequence: Purl 2, knit 6 until the last 2 stitches, then purl 2.

Row 3: Knit all stitches.

Row 4: Repeat the sequence: Knit 4, purl 2, knit 2 until the last 2 stitches, then knit 2.

Row 5: Purl 2, then repeat the sequence: Purl 2, knit 2, purl 4 until the end of the row.

Row 6: Purl all stitches.

Repeat Rows 1-6 for the pattern.

Diagonal Left stitch

Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches

Row 1 (Right Side): Repeat the sequence: Purl 1, knit 5 until the end of the row.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Repeat the sequence: Purl 4, knit 1, purl 1 until the end of the row.
Row 3: Repeat the sequence: Knit 2, purl 1, knit 3 until the end of the row.
Row 4: Repeat the sequence: Purl 2, knit 1, purl 3 until the end of the row.
Row 5: Repeat the sequence: Knit 4, purl 1, knit 1 until the end of the row.
Row 6: Repeat the sequence: Knit 1, purl 5 until the end of the row.

Repeat Rows 1-6 for the pattern.

Diagonal Right stitch

Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches

Row 1 (Right Side): Repeat the sequence: Knit 5, purl 1 until the end of the row.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Repeat the sequence: Purl 1, knit 1, purl 4 until the end of the row.
Row 3: Repeat the sequence: Knit 3, purl 1, knit 2 until the end of the row.
Row 4: Repeat the sequence: Purl 3, knit 1, purl 2 until the end of the row.
Row 5: Repeat the sequence: Knit 1, purl 1, knit 4 until the end of the row.
Row 6: Repeat the sequence: Purl 5, knit 1 until the end of the row.
