Knitted square no. 48 is an easy pattern that only requires basic knit and purl stitches over 8 rows. The best part is that it's reversible and identical on both sides, so you don't have to worry about which side is the right side. Plus, it doesn't curl like some other patterns do.

Pattern: 45 stitches - 60 rows Category: Knit-Along
Row 1 Knit 1, Purl 2, (Knit 2, Purl 3) ×8, Knit 2. 
Row 2 (Purl 1, Knit 4) ×8, Purl 1, Knit 3, Purl 1. 
Row 3 (Knit 1, Purl 4) ×8, Knit 1, Purl 3, Knit 1. 
Row 4 Purl 1, Knit 2, (Purl 2, Knit 3) ×8, Purl 2. 
Row 5 (Knit 3, Purl 2) ×8, Knit 3, Purl 1, Knit 1. 
Row 6 Purl 5, (Knit 1, Purl 4) ×8. 
Row 7 Knit 5, (Purl 1, Knit 4) ×8. 
Row 8 (Purl 3, Knit 2) ×8, Purl 3, Knit 1, Purl 1. 
Repeat Rows 1-8. Ending with row 4.
