Learn the Daisy Stitch: One Color and Two Colors

The Daisy stitch is a delightful knitting stitch that creates a textured, flower-like pattern.

It is worked in multiples of 6 stitches + 1 and a 4-row repeat. The Daisy stitch itself is created by slipping a group of 5 stitches knitwise, then knitting into them together through the back loop. This technique gives the fabric a distinct floral appearance, making it a popular choice for scarves, blankets, and decorative accents.

In this article, we will guide you through how to knit the Daisy stitch in one color and two colors. With a bit of practice, you will quickly master this technique.

Let’s get started!

How to make the Daisy stitch
Slip the next 5 stitches knitwise to the right-hand needle, dropping any extra wraps. Slip these stitches back to the left-hand needle. Work (knit 1, yarn over, knit 1, yarn over, knit 1) into all 5 stitches together through the back loop.
